Who Was Alex?
Alex Foppoli was a gifted, passionate, and charismatic young man. Born in Buenos Aires and raised in New York, he had a natural gift for language, debate, and leadership. He loved soccer, politics, and community—and could whip up a speech or juggle a ball like no one else.
But like many teens, Alex also struggled—first with ADHD, and later with substance use. These were challenges he faced with quiet resilience. After a rehab stay in 2020, he shared a powerful truth with his mom:
